Advent Drama Casting Call- A Christmas Yarn

Is your child interested in playing a part in our kids’ Advent drama, "A Christmas Yarn"? There’s a place for them. Join us on Sunday, September 14 from 4-5pm in the Haygood sanctuary for a casting call. Speaking roles are for children ages 2nd-6th grades.

Schedule: Participants must attend rehearsals on Sundays from 4-5pm from September 14 until the performance on Dec. 7 (during worship.) There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal on Saturday, Dec. 6.  There will be no rehearsals on Oct 12 and Nov 23 due to school breaks.

Plot:  At Unique Gifts from Luxurious Yarns (U.G.L.Y.), ugly is beautiful! At the factory of the world’s leading supplier of ugly Christmas sweaters, founder Sam Ebenezer pulls all the strings to make sure no stitch is dropped. With a huge order looming to get out the day before Christmas, the team of Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tom and others weave together a plan of attack, while Sam encounters three mysterious visitors who not only help overcome some ugly obstacles, but bring the beautiful good news of Christmas! With apologies to the well-loved Christmas Carol, it will be a "dickens" of a good time with A Christmas Yarn

Children play the parts of a unique group of employees of the U.G.L.Y. factory, including the CEO Sam (or Samantha) Ebenezer; Sam’s three visitors, and more.

If your 2nd - 6th grade child is interested in participating, please register here and join us for a casting session on September 14. All attendees will receive a part in the play.

The play will be performed in worship on December 7 at 11a.m.
Our director is Rev. Taylor Driskill-Pafford.
