Children's Advent Drama: Glory To God In the Lowest

Casting call: Sunday, October 1

Rehearsals: Sundays, October 15-November 26

Performance during worship: Sunday, December 3

Is your child interested in playing a part in our kids’ Advent drama, "Glory to God In the Lowest"? There’s a place for them. Join us on Sunday, October 1st from 4-5pm in the Ecker Fellowship Hall for a casting call. Speaking roles are for children ages 2nd-6th grades. Our two children’s choirs will be incorporated into our production.

Participants must attend rehearsals on Sundays from 4-5pm from Oct 1 until the performance on Dec. 3. There will be no rehearsals on Oct 8 and Nov 19 due to school breaks. (note: Children’s choir rehearsals remain on Wednesdays.)

When angels appeared outside the town of Bethlehem proclaiming the greatest news the world had ever heard, they didn’t deliver their message to the high and mighty, but to the simple and lowly - shepherds! And not just any shepherds, but easily disregarded "night shepherds." "Glory to God in the highest" became "Glory to God in the lowest," too, as the Son of God came to the world as a tiny baby in a lowly manger! With great dialogue and familiar carols, all presented with an upbeat vibe that incorporated humor, this play is sure to be a hit with kids and audiences alike!

Children play the parts of shepherds (male and female), as well as a census taker and a narrator.

If your 2nd - 6th grade child is interested in a part, join us for a casting session on October 1st. All children will receive a part in the play.

This play will be performed in worship on December 3rd at 11am.

Our director is Rev. Taylor Pafford (who grew up at Haygood). She is an ordained deacon in the United Methodist  Church.
