Faith and Formation - A Family Weekend

About the Leader

Melanie Gordon serves as Director of Ministry with Children in the Discipleship Ministries of the General Board of the United Methodist Church. Melanie holds a Master of Church Ministries degree with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation from Duke Divinity School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University. She has taught school and comes to us with excellent experience.

Workshops

Faith of Children: Bringing together Church and Family
Saturday, September 11th | 9:00 am - 2:00 pm | Fellowship Hall | $12 (this workshop only)

Schedule of the day:
9:00-9:30 am - Light breakfast and Fellowship
9:30 am-12:00 pm - Parent Session: A discussion style training led by Melanie with a focus on teaching your children about Christian living in everyday life. (During this session children will be in the gym or nursery.)
12:00-1:00 pm - Catered Lunch
1:00-2:00 pm –Family Session: Children join in for hands on experience in learning to live as Christians

Sacred Relationships: Learning Bible Stories and Living our Faith Together
Sunday, September 12th | 9:45 am | Fellowship Hall | Free!

Family Session: Breakfast and a discussion led by Melanie Gordon on the importance of Sunday School for people of all ages.

Worship - Christian Education For Life Sunday

Registration

Cost is $12 per adult (Saturday workshop only) and covers childcare, meals, and speaker. Registration and payment due to Carrie Yoder by September 5, 2010. Click on the link below to register online.
