About Haygood

Haygood is an active and friendly faith community in the heart of the Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta where everyone is welcome.

Worshipping

Worship is at the heart of our life together. Each week we gather to thank God for the blessings we have received and to ask for the strength and courage to face the days ahead. Through music, prayer, the reading of Scripture, and retelling our stories in light of God's grand narrative we hope to become the people God created and intends us to be.

Serving

There are plenty of ways to serve at Haygood UMC. Whether up front or behind the scenes, in leadership or a supporting role, on Sundays or another day of the week, there's a place for you. Whatever your schedule, gifts, or abilities, you can find a place discovering who you are while helping shape the world around us.

Giving

For centuries, people of faith have responded to the call to love God with all their heart, soul, and strength. When we uncover how our lives are part of God's story, we begin to discover a joy to life - lasting, beautiful, deep. We understand that it takes a lot to do what we do. So we give abundantly because that's what God does.

Playing

It seems a little weird to think of playing along with worshipping, serving, giving, and growing. We know God wants the best for us, and that healthy hearts are happy ones - so we play. We're good at it here. Laughter in the hallways, bouncing balls, and footsteps heard through floors make us smile and remind us that there is life in this place.

Growing

Becoming a student, or disciple, of Jesus is a process that never ends. God's grace working in and through us helps transform our lives as we partner together to transform the world. At the heart of the matter is connection to Jesus Christ, leading and shaping our lives.
